Grad Portraits

Chico State Grad | Jessica

As far as ‘college towns’ go, it’s pretty hard to beat Chico. Founded in 1887, it is the second oldest campus in the California State University system. Chico is the most populous city in Butte County, California.

I live about 60 miles south of Chico, in a small town called Plumas Lake. I enjoy the drive through the open country whenever I get the opportunity to photograph an upcoming Chico State Grad. When Jessica contacted me, she mentioned both her and her sister were graduating from Chico State, so I could not pass up the opportunity to photograph the sisters.

For Jessica’s session, we began our photos by taking a few at in front of the very popular school sign in the quad. I love the brick look that is found throughout the school. It gives the school an Ivy League look.

Another great thing about photographing Chico State grads is that all the popular locations are only a short walk away. After the school sign, we slid over to the right and captured a few images in front of Kendall Hall. From there, we walked around the back to the rose garden area. Even though the water fountain was turned off, we still managed to capture some good images.

Below are some of my favorite images from our Chico State grad session with Jessica. Enjoy!
