Meet the Graduate
Graduation season is upon us and we couldn’t be more excited to share the stories of our Sac State Grads. Today, we’re spotlighting Liliana Munoz, a biomedical sciences major from Brentwood, CA. Liliana chose to begin her college journey at Sacramento State. It’s clear that she found her home away from home.
“The campus is so diverse and welcoming, it was a no brainer that this would be my home for 4 years,” Liliana said. Her favorite moments during college were the late nights spent studying with classmates who then became lifelong friends.
But Liliana wasn’t just focused on becoming a Sac State grad. She was also an active member in the chemistry club, science educational equity program, the TRiO program, and the students with disabilities program. And if that wasn’t impressive enough, Liliana also worked full-time in the tech industry while completing her degree.
For Liliana, her graduation photos represent the hard work and dedication that led to her earning the degree she’s been dreaming of since she was a little girl. “My mom always told me growing up, ‘Mija, people can take whatever they want from you but no one will be able to take away your education’,” Liliana said.
Liliana has big plans for the future. One of her goals is to build a home in Mexico, and she loves to travel in the summer. When asked to describe herself in three words, Liliana said “Ambitious, resilient and EDUCATED!”
But there’s one more thing that might surprise our readers about Liliana: she did Jiu Jitsu for 9 years! And her favorite quote or saying is “Never underestimate el poder de una mujer” (Never underestimate the power of a woman).
During her graduation photoshoot, Liliana brought two looks to showcase her personality. The first look was a clean and sophisticated brown dress that perfectly captured her professional side. The dress was paired with sleek nude heels, making for a polished and sophisticated look.
But Liliana also wanted to showcase her fun and collegiate side. For the second look, she went for a more casual and laid-back outfit. She wore a Sac State graphic sweater, paired with ripped jeans and sneakers. This look was perfect for capturing Liliana’s fun-loving and adventurous spirit. The two looks perfectly captured Liliana’s diverse personality and highlighted her many talents and passions. She looked stunning in both outfits. We’re sure that her graduation photos will be a cherished keepsake for years to come.
