Meet the Graduate
Meet Lisa, an Economics major, graduating from Sacramento State University class of 2021! Lisa was born in San Francisco, CA and was raised in Sacramento. When asked why she decided to attend Sac State, Lisa said “I chose Sac State because it was convenient. Also, it was close to family, and they offered me scholarships and grants that I couldn’t refuse. My favorite moment at Sac State was getting my bid from Alpha Chi Omega.”
During her time at CSUS, Lisa formed part of Alpha Chi Omega, Phi Kappa Phi honor society and Golden Key honor society.
Q&A Time
What is your favorite thing to do in the summer?
“My favorite thing to do in the summer is to ride jet skis and go on boat trips.”
If you had to describe yourself in three words, what would they be?
“I would say I am determined, resilient and open-minded.”
Why did you decide to take graduation photos?
“My grad photos are a celebration of my accomplishments, which I am extremely proud of.”
What is one goal you’d like to accomplish during your life?
“ A goal of mine is to attend a top ranked law school.”
What’s something my readers would be surprised to learn about you?
“I am the youngest of five girls, and a first generation college graduate!”
The Shoot
Sac State campus is one of my favorite campuses to take grad photos at. Sacramento can get in the triple digits for most of the spring/summer. However, you can always find a nice shade to cool down under one of many gigantic trees. In addition, I try to schedule most of my grad shoots later in the afternoon so that we are not shooting under the blazing sun.
We began our session with Lisa with some casual pictures in her school t-shirt and jeans. This combo allowed us to get some unique photos, like jumping in the air and sitting down, that we don’t typically get to shoot when my grads wear dresses.
For outfit number two, we headed over to one of the shaded tree pathways, where Lisa wore an elegant white dress. During my sessions, I like to shoot a combination of both natural light and off camera flash photos. Different lighting captures different moods.
As the sun started to set, we walked over to the front of the school and took some photos at the must have School sign. Lisa ended her session with a fun set of photos with champagne 🍾
