SJSU Graduation Photos | Class of 2020 | Riley
Meet Riley, a recent San Jose State grad from the class of 2020. We had multiple grad shoots scheduled for this day. As the day went on, I began to notice the sky go from blue to gray. Shortly thereafter, it began to rain, right before Riley’s session.
Most students would be disappointed that it rained during their grad photos. And although it was not ideal, Riley was a trooper and simply said, “I am ok shooting in the rain if you are.” We started by doing some photos under the covering at the student union, hoping the rain would ease down. As soon as we saw a chance, we stepped out to the palms by 7th st plaza and quickly snapped a few more shots. Slowly but surely, we managed to shoot photos at each of Riley’s desired locations. Riley was super easy to work with, and it helped that she was a swimmer for SJSU‘s swim team, so getting wet didn’t face her.

As COVID took the world by storm and special events began to diminish, it was so important for me to be able to document my extremely hard-working years in college with something other than a diploma. Sergio was able to squeeze me in last minute to document this huge milestone in my life. Rain or shine, and sadly in my case rain, couldn’t stop this photoshoot from becoming a negative experience. Sergio was willing to do anything in order to squeeze in photos anytime it stopped raining. I couldn’t have imagined my photos turning out any better and am so thankful for these photos. I will definitely be returning to Sergio when I graduate with my Master’s degree.
