Meet the Graduate
Meet Ivy, an English Prep for Teaching major, graduating from San Jose State University class of 2021! Ivy is originally from Fontana, California, about 50 miles east of Los Angeles. When asked why she decided to attend SJSU, Ivy replied “I choose San Jose State because it was close to home and I wanted to be close to my family. In addition, my best friend was also attending SJSU, and we had been attending school together since 6th grade.”
Ivy was also part of The Spartan Competitive Dance Team – Sirens of Sparta, during her junior year. She also formed part of the cheer squad during her senior year.

What is your favorite thing to do in the summer?
“My favorite summer activity is spending time at the beach.”
If you had to describe yourself in three words, what would they be?
“Outgoing , personable, and determined.”
Why did you decide to take graduation photos?
“My SJSU grad pictures represent my biggest accomplishment, which is being a first generation college student.”
What is one goal you’d like to accomplish during your life?
“One goal I would like to accomplishment during my life is to become a successful teacher and make a difference in the classroom.”
What’s something my readers would be surprised to learn about you?
“They would be surprised that I was able to graduate on time in 4 years!”
The Shoot
One of the best things about taking SJSU grad pictures is that it always brings me back to my hometown of of San Jose, CA. The university has many great locations throughout the campus that make for beautiful backdrops. Tower Hall and the student union were must haves for Ivory. The day was warm, sunny, and perfectly showcased the great weather we have in California.
Along with her grad package, Ivy also chose to add a grad cinematic video to her session. These are fun short videos that help capture the feeling of graduation like no other, and provide a long lasting memory of yourself walking the campus one last time.
