Meet the Graduate
Meet Aimee, a Psychology major, graduating from San Jose State University, class of 2022! Aimee is originally from Orosi, CA. When asked why she decided to attend SJSU, Aimee replied “I chose this college looking for greater opportunities and experience in the area. My favorite moment during college would have to be when the university reopened after being in quarantine due to Covid. I thought I was never going to get to experience college life in person. I feel very grateful to graduate in person along my peers and not through a computer screen.”
Q&A Time
What is your favorite thing to do in the summer?
“Drinking margaritas, being surrounded by friends and family, and traveling.”
If you had to describe yourself in three words, what would they be?
“Hardworking, Ambitious, Compassionate”
Why did you decide to take graduation photos?
“I’m all about capturing special moments especially grad photos. It’s another important milestone, one that was very hard to achieve, and an accomplishment for my mom and I. Being able to look back at these photos to remind myself of how far I’ve come keeps me motivated, it will make my mom and future generations proud. My kids and then their kids. You only graduate with your B.A. once so why not have beautiful photos to remember it by.”
What is one goal you’d like to accomplish during your life?
“I hope to become a School Counselor to inspire and guide students towards success through an education. I also hope to give back as much as I can to my mom for all her sacrifices to get me here..”
What’s something my readers would be surprised to learn about you?
“I very much enjoy dancing Hip Hop and I’m not bad at it.”
What’s your favorite quote or saying?
“Nada en esta vida es fácil, tienes que echarle ganas para seguir adelante.”

The Shoot
Aimee came to her session wearing a nice powder blue dress that photographed great at San Jose State. The day was a bit windy, but we managed to still get some great shots. We started our photoshoot in front of the Student Union glass wall. I love the reflection shots we can get at this location. Aimee also decorated her graduation cap with rhinestones in the form of spartan logo. The cap decoration turned out great.
After some photos at the student union, we slid right over to the 7th street plaza. The day was beautiful and we got nice clear blue skies during our shoot. Over the last year, this has become a very popular location for grads to take graduation photos.
Below are some of our favorite SJSU grad photos with Aimee. Enjoy
